Can I get an estimate on a cake without making an appointment?

Yes. If you have a cake design picked out, please feel free to send us a link or photo of your ideas.

Do you charge for the anniversary tier?

No,  we will either serve the top tier of your wedding cake to your guests or save your top tier,  to be eaten by family members in a quiet moment after your Special day. For quality and freshness and to eliminate the need to freeze your precious memento for a year our Complimentary Anniversary Tier  is provided fresh on your first wedding anniversary. You will receive one  6 inch replica of your top tier in the shape of your wedding cake. (round, square, etc.) up to 14 days prior to your 1 year wedding anniversary or up to 14 days after. You will be responsible for ordering your complimentary anniversary tier. 7 day minimum notice required. Decorations or delivery not included. With proper packaging edible decorations and cake toppers will last as long as you want them to and make a great addition to your Wedding Anniversary Cake.

How do I set up a tasting?

Your tasting is scheduled when you reserve your date.

What should I bring to the tasting/consultation?

It's always helpful to us if you bring photos of what you would like your wedding cake to look like. Swatches of your wedding colors, pictures of bridesmaid dresses, invitations or other elements especially for your wedding are also helpful. 

What is a groom's cake?

Grooms cake are made in honor of the groom and are customarily chocolate flavored, unless otherwise requested.  The grooms cake is usually presented during the rehearsal brunch or dinner, although  it is not uncommon to see them featured at wedding receptions alongside the wedding cake. 

How far in advance should I order a Specialty Dessert or Custom/Kids cake?

At least two weeks in advance. Holidays and other special times of year make it almost impossible to for us to accept even just one more order   Occasionally, we are able to squeeze in a last minute order, so we always say, it won't hurt to ask.  Once the  details are finalized, we will email you an order confirmation. You'll then have a chance to review your cake specifications and make any necessary changes before payment is rendered.

I would like to order a special occasion cake and would like to know if I could meet with you or a staff member to discuss the design.

Miranda Christine's is primarily a referral based online business; design appointments are reserved for wedding cakes of more than 100 servings. We, however, are more than happy to work with you via email or by phone. If you are interested in a quote and already have a design in mind, just email your photos and wedding guest size and we will be happy to provide a quote. All of our "one of a kind" designs are proprietary images and the sole property of Miranda Christine Event Planning and Cake Design. We do not provide design sketches for free or on command until you have booked us for your event.

How do I know if my order has been placed?

You will receive an email invoice specifying the needs of your your order including: Delivery  or pick-up time and price. After payment is rendered your receipt is your proof of purchase. If you do not receive a payment receipt your order has not been placed.

Do you deliver? If not, how do I transport a tiered cake?

Miranda Christine's includes instructions on the best way to transport and store your cake. Please keep in mind that Miranda Christine's is not responsible for damages that may occur while you are transporting your cake. Free Delivery for all orders over $100.00 within 25 miles of zip code 76006. $10 each additional 10 miles. Billed in 10 mile increments only. You will receive current delivery pricing in your invoice.

Are your edible cake decorations safe for me and my child?

Our edible cake decorations are hand crafted primarily from different sugar mediums, making them edible. Once they are created, they are dried and hand painted with edible paints, dyes and glitter.. While not harmful in small quantities I would Not recommend eating extremely large amounts of  any Item, especially sugar-laced ones. I would just advise to use caution and limit the amounts consumed on a regular basis. Also, most edible decorations need a little help to maintain their design and structure. Our Gum paste flowers are also made of sugar, but many of them are structured around metal hardware or wire which are NOT edible. You will be advised upon receiving your cake: Where the edible and non-edible items are located.

Am I limited to ordering only a cake that is listed on your site?

No, you are not limited to ordering only the cakes displayed on our site. All of our cakes are made custom for each of our clients . That''s what we do. Feel free to tell us what you'd like to see in your cake. You can simply start with the theme of your party or your favorite color. What's the difference between Buttercream and Fondant?

Butter cream still seems to be the frosting of choice. It has a smooth creamy texture and a rich buttery taste and is a often considered a classic favorite. However, many love the smooth matte or satiny look of fondant, but have heard that it does not taste as good as butter cream. Some fondants taste better than others, one of which is ours.

Fondant has a chewy texture, similar to soft candy corn. It is a sugar dough that is kneaded, rolled to size and then draped and smoothed over an  iced cake. Our fondant is either vanilla or chocolate  and can be dyed any color you choose.

My friend ordered a Cake that fed 50 people. Can I order the same one to feed 25 people?

Yes. Our custom cakes can be scaled up or down to accommodate the number of guests you'd like to feed. On occasion, we do find some cakes require a minimum number of servings to create the structure and design so desired.

I see you are closed on Mondays. Can I still get a cake for that day?

Yes. Even though Miranda Christine's is also by Appointment Only on Fridays & Saturdays. We are not trying to ignore you! We prepare for our events that occur predominatley Friday & Saturday. Miranda Christine is a hands-on Full Service Wedding & Party Planning Design Firm, Which means if you are having a Saturday Night Wedding with full Party Planning Services: Miranda Christine is hard at work for you, and no one else. For this reason we retain our Fridays and Saturdays for scheduled appointments. We are closed most  Mondays because well.... we have to sleep some time, however with proper notice and a scheduled appointment you absolutely can have your cake order any day of the week.
